Post covid popping and cracking joints - #10331

Joe

Since having COVID, I’ve been experiencing systemic joint cracking and popping throughout my body. It feels like a snapping or crackling sensation, and I never had this issue before COVID.
I’m currently taking 250 mg of magnesium daily and have been doing so for the past three days. I also saw a neurologist who said the muscle twitching was benign at the time. However, my main concern now is the joint cracking.
During and after COVID, I consulted three rheumatologists. The only finding was a low-titer ANA. I also had an EMG done, which came back normal. Since there were no significant abnormalities in my bloodwork, I was essentially discharged without further direction.
I’ve also been trying to follow an anti-inflammatory Mediterranean-style diet, but so far it doesn’t seem to be making any noticeable difference in my symptoms.
I wanted to ask if you’ve heard of symptoms like this before. From my own research, I’ve seen reports in long COVID literature and medical journals describing joint crepitus and muscle spasms appearing after COVID infection. I was hoping you might be able to point me in the right direction regarding what to explore next.
