How much did I just lose? - #10532
I was diagnosed with decompensated Cirrhosis a year ago last November. I am finally going to Colorado on April 13th to meet with the transplant team and complete all their tests. I've had one hell of a struggle to overcome my dependency on alcohol but finally started to feel like I had a grasp on recovery. March 1st I said no more and hadn't thought about it much since...up until today when I found out my best friend lost her battle to cancer this morning. I had literally half a shot of vodka if that. I instantly regretted my decision but that's not what the transplant team will look at; I guess my question is, did my stupid mistake cost me a liver and my shot at life? Will it show up when they run the PHOSPHATIDYLETHANOL test? Did I fail?
