Doctors’ responses

Hi Rejna, considering your PCOS and your husband’s semen motility issues (post-varicocele surgery), there are still options for conception. For your PCOS, continue with ovulation-inducing medications (like Clomid or letrozole) and focus on lifestyle changes to improve hormonal balance. Since your husband had varicocele surgery, it’s crucial to follow up with a repeat semen analysis to evaluate improvements in motility. If IUI failed, and ovulation is well-regulated on your part and your husband’s sperm quality has improved, IVF or ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) may be the next step. IVF offers higher success rates in cases of both male and female infertility factors. Stay in close consultation with a fertility specialist who can guide you on the best treatment plan, monitor progress, and recommend the next steps based on your individual situation.

It's important to consult a fertility specialist who can guide both of you through personalized treatment options, including lifestyle changes, medications, or advanced fertility techniques.
