Doctors’ responses

Devi, your concerns—dull skin, dark spots, uneven tone, hair fall—are likely due to hormonal factors (thyroid, PCOS), nutritional deficiencies, and sun exposure. Skin Care: • Morning: Vitamin C serum + SPF 50 sunscreen • Night: Niacinamide or azelaic acid; Retinol 2–3x/week • Exfoliate weekly; stay consistent Hair Fall: • Use mild shampoo • Start biotin + iron + vitamin D • Check thyroid levels and ferritin • Minoxidil 5% at night if hair fall is severe (consult first) Dark Circles & Body Discoloration: • Improve sleep, hydration • Use sunscreen on face and body daily • Body moisturiser with urea/lactic acid helps even tone Get blood tests done to rule out deficiencies. With regular care, improvement is absolutely possible. You should consult a dermatologist in person for a full skin and scalp check. They’ll assess pigmentation type, scalp health, and hormonal signs, then suggest suitable treatments like peels, PRP, or targeted creams.

At 44, skin and hair changes due to thyroid and PCOS are common, but with dermatologist-guided treatments like vitamin C serums, sunscreen, and hair supplements, improvement is possible. Consult a skin and hair specialist to start a personalized routine for brightening skin and reducing hair fall.
