newer treatment protocols for H. pylori - #10623

Rafik

Dear Doctor, My name is Rafik, I am 35 years old, and I am from Morocco. For the past nine months, I have been experiencing a range of persistent symptoms that significantly affect my daily life, including: • Moderate stomach pain and inflammation • Occasional heartburn and mild nausea • Unusual and persistent dizziness • Difficulty concentrating and mental fog • Weight loss of about 7 kilograms during this period • General weakness and fatigue A possible H. pylori infection was suspected following a fibroscopy test, and my symptoms have persisted despite dietary measures and previous attempts at treatment. I have not used any dedicated H. pylori therapy before. I have some questions regarding newer treatment protocols for H. pylori, such as: • Vonoprazan + Amoxicillin (dual therapy) • Vonoprazan + Amoxicillin + Clarithromycin (triple therapy) • Rabeprazole reverse hybrid therapy My questions are: 1. Are these newer protocols effective and reliable as a first-line treatment for H. pylori? 2. Could my persistent dizziness and difficulty concentrating be caused by H. pylori infection or gastritis, or should other causes be investigated? 3. Can these newer protocols be relied upon instead of traditional quadruple therapy, especially given my sensitive stomach? Thank you very much for your time and attention.
