Doctors’ responses

Hi Mr. Nirmal, Your symptoms -severe insomnia, fatigue, low appetite, and lack of motivation may indicate depression, anxiety, or burnout. Please consult a psychiatrist or physician immediately. Avoid self-medication. Follow strict sleep hygiene: no screens before bed, fixed sleep/wake time, no caffeine late in the day. Short-term use of melatonin (after doctor advice) may help reset your sleep cycle.

Hi Nirmal, this is Dr. Aman Shaba. What you're describing sounds like severe insomnia, and it’s already affecting your energy, appetite, and interest in daily life — this can happen due to stress, anxiety, or sometimes depression. Lack of sleep for 2-3 days is serious and needs medical attention. Sleeping pills alone are not the long-term solution; we usually check for underlying causes first and then start proper treatment — sometimes with short-term sleep aids and anxiety or mood stabilizers if needed. I suggest you consult a psychiatrist soon so we can help break this cycle before it affects your health further. Let me know if you want guidance on next steps. Dr Aman Shaba Consultant Psychiatrist

It sounds like you're dealing with significant sleep issues and a lack of motivation, which could be related to stress, anxiety, or depression. It's important to consult a healthcare professional, as they can assess your symptoms and recommend treatment options to help improve your sleep and overall well-being.
