I have I have visited two to three dental hospitals for check up but the swelling in my village is not reducing. Please tell me the treatment for this. I have take vitamin tablets and antibiotics but there is no effect to take this medicine.also inflammation in gems

As from your disease history mentioned by you, you will be needing a full mouth dental scaling. Gum swellings are very common due to improper toothbrushing and persistence of dental plaque deposits on tooth. On your end you should brush twice daily with a soft toothbrush and any over the counter toothpaste (not ayurvedic ones). If still problem persists, visit a nearby dentist and get your gums checked up thoroughly. I want to ask, about are you taking any medications for any health issues? The gum swellings can also may be due to drug related. Regards Dr Sudip Sen( MDS Periodontics)

Hello dear Please be aware See first get an x ray to see if the internal restoration is ok or not since sensitivity can be due to recurrent, secondary or root caries. Accordingly the treatment could be prescribed as re RCT with mta or extraction In the meantime please use sanquil ad twice a day topically over crown for two weeks and update me if no improvement is there Regards

Should we remove stains regularly?, other than aesthetics does stain cause teeth damage?, please advise, also having sensitive teeth, does descaling make teeth more sensitive, i am using medium brush ,.........

Yes, it’s important to remove stains regularly. Stains may seem harmless, but they can lead to plaque buildup, which increases your risk of gum disease and tooth decay, especially since diabetes can impact oral health. You can also start use flossing but not too intensive as you might injury your gums While stains don’t directly harm teeth, they can indicate plaque or tartar, which may erode enamel over time Mild sensitivity after cleaning is normal but temporary. Descaling actually improves gum health by removing tartar that can cause recession and sensitivity. Switch to a soft-bristled brush and brush gently. Use sensitive toothpaste . Avoid acidic foods that worsen sensitivity.

I have black spots and lines on my teeth just below the gum. How can i remove ot and how to prevent it. Will debtal floss be helpful? Is there any risk of teeth damage if I do any procedure to remove it now?

Hello dear Please be advised See the condition you are taking is an esthetic issue caused by melanotic pigmentation. However for teeth they are usually caused by either smoking, tobacco or they can be intrinsic stains due to medication or systemic problems. Treatment options are variable for each situation ranging from scaling, veeners, bleaching and surgical depigmentation for gums. However for exact treatment nature of stains is must which can be confirmation by clinical pic. I request you to please share clinical pic for confirmation of diagnosis and best treatment Regards

I suggest you to please share required details for exact confirmation and diagnosis

Persistent tartar buildup

I constantly get tartar buildup even though I take care of my hygiene, I brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, use a soft-bristle brush, and go for regular cleanings. I don’t smoke and barely eat sweets, but plaque still hardens quickly, especially on my lower front teeth. Why does this happen?

Hello Sujal, from the complaint...I think it might be related to your salivary gland or high acid reflux and u should start flossing your teeth at home too

My doctor has prescibed for Rct followed by crown. Is it needed? Is the crown mandatatory after RCT? NEED an advise from dentist. Is implant good or bad? Can any one explain the steps in Root canal Treatment

Tooth is made up of 3 parts - enamel (outermost part), dentin (middle part) & pulp (the innermost part which has nerves & blood vessels). When bacteria in the decay reaches the pulp, you may get pain or sensitivity. When you visit the dentist during this time, the dentist may take an X-ray & after careful examination, may recommend you for RCT or Root Canal Treatment. It is a procedure in which first the dentist remove the decayed part of the tooth, then remove the pulp & clean it & fill it with a cement-like material. If the decay is very extensive, then, after removal of all infected part, the tooth may appear weak & can easily break while chewing food. That’s why dentists recommend crowns for RC treated teeth. Implants are the newest method for replacing a missing tooth. It looks just like a tooth with a crown at the top & root-like screw at the bottom which will be placed inside your bone.
