Doctors’ responses

Hello dear Please be aware See first get an x ray to see if the internal restoration is ok or not since sensitivity can be due to recurrent, secondary or root caries. Accordingly the treatment could be prescribed as re RCT with mta or extraction In the meantime please use sanquil ad twice a day topically over crown for two weeks and update me if no improvement is there Regards

It sounds like you’re experiencing sensitivity and pain in one of your capped teeth. This could be due to a few reasons: Exposed Tooth Nerve – If the tooth was cut too short, the nerve inside might be irritated. Improper Fit of the Crown – If the cap is not fitting perfectly, it can cause discomfort or pain. Infection or Decay Under the Cap – If bacteria got inside before the cap was placed, there could be an infection. Gum Irritation – Sometimes, the cap may press on the gums, causing pain and sensitivity. What You Can Do: Visit Your Dentist – The best step is to see your dentist as soon as possible. They can check if there’s an issue with the crown or if you need any treatment. Use Desensitizing Toothpaste – This may help with sensitivity temporarily. Avoid Very Hot or Cold Foods – Until you see the dentist, try to avoid triggers that worsen the pain. Take Painkillers if Needed – Over-the-counter painkillers like ibuprofen (if you’re not allergic) may help reduce discomfort. Don’t delay your visit to the dentist, as waiting too long might lead to more serious problems. Do connect and consult will help you

If you are experiencing sensitivity and pain in one of your capped teeth, it could be due to several reasons: 1. Exposed Nerve or Improper Fit – If too much of your natural tooth was removed, the nerve might be exposed, causing sensitivity. An ill-fitting crown can also put pressure on the tooth, leading to discomfort. 2. Cement Washout – Sometimes, the dental cement holding the crown in place can wash out over time, causing the crown to become loose and leading to pain. 3. Underlying Infection – If there was any unnoticed decay or pulp irritation before capping, it could now be causing pain, possibly requiring a root canal treatment (RCT). What to Do: Visit your dentist to check if the crown fits properly and isn’t loose. If pain persists, an X-ray may be needed to check for any infection or nerve exposure. If the nerve is irritated, your dentist might recommend desensitizing toothpaste, a fluoride treatment, or a root canal if necessary. Avoid very hot, cold, or hard foods until the issue is resolved. Don’t delay the visit, as prolonged pain might indicate an underlying issue that needs immediate attention.
