Doctors’ responses

Hi Srijan, Black spots or lines near the gums are often due to tartar buildup or staining. Here’s how to address them: • Removal: • Get professional dental cleaning (scaling) to safely remove the spots. It won’t harm your teeth. • Brush twice daily, floss regularly, and use an antibacterial mouthwash to prevent plaque buildup. • Prevention: • Avoid staining foods like tea, coffee, and tobacco. • Visit your dentist every 6 months for regular checkups. Flossing will help maintain gum health and prevent future stains. Stay consistent, and you’ll notice a difference!

Hello dear Please be advised See the condition you are taking is an esthetic issue caused by melanotic pigmentation. However for teeth they are usually caused by either smoking, tobacco or they can be intrinsic stains due to medication or systemic problems. Treatment options are variable for each situation ranging from scaling, veeners, bleaching and surgical depigmentation for gums. However for exact treatment nature of stains is must which can be confirmation by clinical pic. I request you to please share clinical pic for confirmation of diagnosis and best treatment Regards
