Dr. Sudip Sen
With a strong foundation in clinical dentistry and a focused expertise in Periodontics and Oral Implantology, I bring over four years of dedicated experience in both academic training and hands-on patient care. I began my clinical journey as a Junior Resident at Dr. R. Ahmed Dental College and Hospital, Kolkata, where I had the opportunity to train across three core departments — Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Periodontics — completing six months of intensive residency in each. This rotational training not only broadened my clinical exposure but also refined my diagnostic and surgical skills across multiple specialties. Driven by a deep interest in periodontal health and implant-based rehabilitation, I pursued a three-year postgraduate residency in the Department of Periodontics and Oral Implantology at SCB Government Dental College and Hospital, Cuttack. During this period, I was actively involved in the comprehensive management of periodontal diseases, regenerative procedures, flap surgeries, and implant placement protocols. My academic training was reinforced by extensive clinical experience in treating advanced periodontal conditions, performing mucogingival surgeries, and planning implant-supported restorations tailored to patient needs. I am committed to evidence-based dentistry and patient-centered care, ensuring every treatment plan is precise, personalized, and aligned with the latest advancements in periodontal therapy and implantology. I believe in a holistic approach to oral health, where prevention, education, and long-term maintenance are as crucial as surgical outcomes. By combining clinical proficiency with compassionate care, I strive to create a comfortable and informative experience for my patients, ensuring they feel empowered and confident throughout their treatment journey.

Hi Raj, based on the history you are giving there may be 2 causes of pain after RCT- 1. Missed canal while doing RCT 2. Presence of high point on the restoration leading to trauma from occlusion which is causing periodontal pain(gum related). In either of the cases you should visit your treating dentist (better would be an Endodontist) and get your treated tooth checked both clinically and with the help of a radiograph. Hloo raj ,Persistent pain after a root canal (RCT) for two weeks—especially if it's affecting your sleep Possible Causes of Pain After RCT -Residual infection – Sometimes the root canals weren’t fully cleaned or disinfected. -Missed canal – A hidden or extra canal might be untreated. -Cracked tooth – If the tooth is cracked, RCT alone won't help. -Overfilled/underfilled canals – If the filling material goes beyond or doesn't reach the root tip, it can irritate. -High bite – If the crown or filling is slightly high, it can cause continuous pressure and pain. Delayed healing/inflammation – In some cases, healing takes longer, but that shouldn’t cause sharp or severe pain.
