Doctors’ responses

Hello Prachi. I am sorry that your are going through something like this. It appears that you are having symptoms like low mood, anxiety, emotional instability, poor decision making, and feeling of losing control. All these symptoms point towards a possible clinical depressive episode. Other symptoms of Depression include loss of interest, decreased social interaction, concentration difficulties, excessive worrying, ruminating past negative events, feeling worthless and hopeless, appetite and sleep disturbances. Please know that depression is a biological disorder caused by imbalance of neurotransmitters and faulty neurotransmission in the brain; and is a very disabling in nature. However, also know that Depression is very much treatable with right treatment. Management includes 1) Anti-depressants - esp. SSRIs if depression is moderate to severe, takes 2-3 weeks to start working and need to be continued for 6-9 months to prevent further relapse. 2) Cognitive behavioral therapy (with or without medications) 3) Stress management 4) Lifestyle and diet changes Please let me know if you need any further help. Regards.

Hi , I’m really sorry you’re going through this. Feeling anxious, low, and emotionally overwhelmed can be incredibly tough—but you’re not alone, and help is available. Please reach out to a mental health professional; therapy and guidance can make a big difference. Start small: practice deep breathing daily, try to get 7–8 hours of sleep, and write down your thoughts to release emotional stress. Avoid isolating yourself—talk to someone you trust. This is a difficult phase, but with the right support, you can heal and regain control over your emotions. You’re stronger than you feel right now.

Dear Prachi, Thank you for reaching out. It sounds like you're going through a very difficult time, and I want you to know that you're not alone. Anxiety, low mood, and emotional overwhelm can affect decision-making and daily life—but with the right support, things can improve. For now, try to keep a simple daily routine, stay connected with someone you trust, and avoid making major decisions. Writing down your thoughts can also help release emotional stress. I strongly recommend a proper psychiatric evaluation to understand your condition better and to explore treatment options that can help you feel more in control.
