Doctors’ responses

Hi Rahul, since your endoscopy showed gastritis and GERD, and you’re still losing weight with digestion issues, please consult a gastroenterologist again to rule out H. pylori or malabsorption. Eat small, soft, non-spicy meals frequently. Add bananas, curd, oats, boiled veggies, and soaked dry fruits to gain weight safely. For constipation, try warm water, soaked raisins, and Isabgol at night. A probiotic and B-complex supplement can also help improve digestion and immunity.

Gastritis and constipation usually don't cause weight loss except u are not able to eat properly due to your gastric issues. If still your appetite is good and u are losing weight then u need to get a detailed evaluation like ct abdomen, cbc, lft, kft, hba1c, thyroid profile...

Your ongoing weight loss, digestive issues, and low immunity are likely all connected to chronic gastritis, GERD, and constipation. When your gut isn’t absorbing nutrients properly due to inflammation or acid imbalance, it can lead to poor digestion, low energy, and weakened immunity. The constant acidity and bloating may also be limiting your appetite, which worsens weight loss. Healing your gut lining and improving nutrient absorption is the key—not just eating more, but absorbing better. To support digestion naturally, focus on soft, warm, easy-to-digest foods like khichdi, boiled veggies, banana, papaya, curd (if tolerated), and soaked nuts. Avoid spicy, oily, processed, and sour foods completely. Eat smaller meals more frequently, chew well, and drink warm water—especially early morning. Practice yoga poses like Vajrasana (after meals) and deep breathing to calm the gut. With consistent care, your digestion and strength can improve steadily—your body just needs time to repair and rebuild.
