I'm really sorry you're going through this—it sounds painful and exhausting. The severe itching (eaching), especially after bathing or sun exposure, along with dry, rough, and marked skin, strongly suggests chronic skin hypersensitivity or an allergic skin condition like Chronic Urticaria or Atopic Dermatitis. Hot water, soaps with chemicals, and even sweat can trigger it. You might also be having sun allergy (photoallergy), which worsens after travel in sunlight. The marks and dark patches are likely from constant scratching and inflammation. You need a dermatologist's evaluation, but until then, start using a fragrance-free moisturizer (like Cetaphil or Venusia Max) right after bathing and apply it 2–3 times daily. Use only mild soaps (like Dove or Sebamed bar), avoid hot water, and wear cotton clothes. For itching, Levocetirizine 5mg or Fexofenadine 120mg once daily (preferably at night) can help, but consult a doctor for long-term use. Apply calamine lotion or aloe vera gel to calm the skin when itching is bad. Also, if you've had this for years, ask your doctor about checking for Vitamin D deficiency, thyroid issues, or even autoimmune skin conditions. Since you mentioned tooth pain, it could be linked to underlying inflammation or even an allergic reaction to dental materials if you've had fillings or treatments. A proper skin care routine + allergy control + oral checkup can give you big relief—you don’t have to cry through this. You're not alone in this fight.

Dear Sona, I understand how frustrating it must be to deal with persistent itching and dental pain. Since your itching worsens after bathing, sun exposure, and sometimes randomly, it could be due to dry skin, allergies, or an underlying skin condition. The fact that medications help temporarily but the itching keeps coming back suggests that the root cause might not have been fully addressed. To help manage this, you can try: 1. Using a Gentle Cleanser – Avoid harsh soaps and hot water while bathing, as they strip natural oils from your skin. Opt for mild, fragrance-free cleansers like Cetaphil or Dove Sensitive. 2. Moisturizing Immediately After Bathing – Apply a thick moisturizer (Vaseline, Cetaphil, or Bioderma Atoderm) on damp skin to lock in moisture and prevent irritation. 3. Sun Protection – Since sunlight worsens your itching, use sunscreen (SPF 50+) and wear cotton clothing when outdoors. 4. Antihistamines for Relief – If the itching becomes unbearable, Levocetirizine (5mg) SOS can help control allergic reactions. 5. Pain Management for Dental Issues – If your tooth pain worsens, you can take Paracetamol (PCM 500mg) SOS for relief, but a dental check-up would be ideal to determine the cause. 6. Hydration & Diet – Drink plenty of water, and eat foods rich in Omega-3s (fish, walnuts) and Vitamin E (sunflower seeds, spinach) to improve skin health. 7. Identifying Triggers – If certain soaps, detergents, or fabrics worsen the itching, switch to hypoallergenic products. Since this issue has been ongoing for years, consulting a dermatologist would be the best way to check for conditions like eczema, urticaria, or chronic skin allergies. If your dental pain persists, seeing a dentist will help rule out cavities, gum infections, or sensitivity issues.
