What could cause my irregular cycles and difficulty ovulating at 23? - #10473
Hello, I am 23 years old and have had irregular periods since my teens. My cycles usually range between 2–4 months, and sometimes I skip ovulation entirely. My periods are often heavy with clots and mild-to-intense pain the first day. I have noticed changes in cervical mucus: sometimes egg-white fertile mucus appears, sometimes it doesn’t. Lately I feel fullness and slight bloating in my lower belly, but I’m unsure if I am ovulating. I am overweight (115 kg(250 lbs), 184 cm(6'1 ft)) and have a slow metabolism. I’ve been trying to eat well and stay active, but cycles remain irregular. I am very anxious about fertility and the possibility of infertility, and I would like to know: Could these symptoms indicate a hormonal imbalance, PCOS, or other reproductive issues? How likely is it for someone with irregular cycles like mine to be able to conceive naturally? Are there tests or steps I can take to confirm ovulation and improve my chances of pregnancy?
