I had the opportunity to serve as a Senior Resident in the Department of Pediatrics, where I gained comprehensive experience in managing a wide range of pediatric conditions—from routine illnesses to complex neonatal and critical care cases. This role allowed me to work closely with infants, children, and adolescents, providing both inpatient and outpatient care, while actively participating in emergency pediatric services, immunization clinics, and developmental assessments. During this period, I developed strong diagnostic skills, honed my ability to make quick yet accurate clinical decisions, and deepened my understanding of pediatric pharmacology and child-specific treatment protocols. I was actively involved in case discussions, academic rounds, and hands-on procedures such as lumbar punctures, intravenous access, neonatal resuscitation, and growth monitoring. What I valued most in this role was the trust parents placed in me. I made it a priority to communicate clearly and compassionately, ensuring families understood their child’s condition, treatment options, and prognosis. My approach has always been to treat each young patient with care, patience, and empathy—recognizing not just the physical symptoms but also the emotional needs of the child and their family. This experience as a Senior Resident has greatly shaped my approach to pediatric care. It has strengthened my commitment to evidence-based medicine, continuous learning, and delivering holistic, family-centered healthcare. Whether managing acute illnesses or supporting long-term development, I strive to offer attentive, thorough, and personalized care to every child I serve.
