Frequent Headache - #9401

Ruthra

Hi, I am Ruthra. Working as a Software Engineer. I used to take breaks after an hour and have a screen time of about 7 hrs daily. I am using laptop glasses and consulted with opthalmologist to verify if there is any eye problem. They have informed that no issues with my vision. I am suffering from frequent headches almost daily. It is not severe daily. But on certain it will be severe. Will that be due to some neurological issues or it is normal.

Hi Ruthra, from whatever you are describing and considering your profession involving meeting deadlines, stress and higher screen times, you might be suffering from Tension headaches. When it's recurrent, it is very disabling and difficult to manage without treatment. Management includes 1) Stress management using relaxation techniques 2) For prophylaxis - low dose Amitriptyline or Propranolol or Flunnarizine for few months I hope this answers your question. Regards.
