Doctors’ responses

According to your age we can help with dietary supplements. Treatment we will not discuss here. Even at 68, lifestyle can make a huge difference: Low-Carb or Controlled-Carb Diet: Avoid sugar, refined grains, and large rice or wheat-based meals. Walk After Every Meal (10–15 mins) – helps lower sugar naturally. Weight Reduction: Even 3–5 kg weight loss (if overweight) improves insulin sensitivity.

Hi Mr. Sukumar, since your diabetes is uncontrolled despite insulin, the following steps are strongly recommended: 1. Reassess your insulin regimen – dosing and timing may need adjustment. 2. Use a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) to track sugar fluctuations accurately and maintain a diary. 3. Consult an endocrinologist to rule out insulin resistance or complications. 4. Do not start any new medicines without discussing with your doctor. Diet & Activity (Simple & Effective): • Meals: Small, frequent, low-carb meals. Avoid sugar, rice, potatoes, fruit juices. • Breakfast: Oats or moong chilla + boiled egg or paneer • Lunch/Dinner: 1–2 rotis, sabzi, dal/paneer, salad • Snacks: Fruits like guava or apple, nuts, green tea • Walk daily for 30–45 minutes, especially after meals.
