Doctors’ responses

Hi Sanjita, It usually takes about 7–10 days for the initial healing and around 2–3 weeks for full recovery. Mild white patches, slight discomfort, or scabbing are common during this time and part of the normal healing process. The disappearance of the lesion after the VDM kit and its return in a different form could mean it wasn’t a typical wart initially — possibly a fungal infection or irritation. Still, cautery is a safe option if the lesion looked suspicious. Continue using the prescribed Mupirocin and Aciclovir. Keep the area clean, avoid tight clothing and sexual activity until fully healed. If you notice worsening pain, discharge, or new lesions, follow up with your doctor. Also, once you’re healed, consider discussing HPV screening or a Pap smear with your doctor for reassurance.
