Doctors’ responses

Hi Kavya, here are some tips to help you gain weight in a healthy way: 1. Increase Caloric Intake: Focus on nutrient-dense foods. Include whole grains, nuts, seeds, avocados, full-fat dairy, and lean proteins like chicken, fish, and eggs. 2. Frequent Meals: Eat 5-6 smaller meals throughout the day instead of 3 large meals to ensure a constant supply of calories. 3. Protein and Healthy Fats: Add high-protein foods (like lentils, beans, and lean meats) and healthy fats (like nuts, olive oil, and avocado) to your meals for muscle growth and weight gain. 4. Smoothies and Shakes: Drink high-calorie smoothies with ingredients like fruits, yogurt, oats, peanut butter, or protein powders. These are great for increasing calories without feeling overly full. 5. Strength Training: Incorporate weight training exercises to build muscle mass. Muscle weighs more than fat, so this will help you gain weight in a healthy way. 6. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water, but avoid filling up with water before meals to make room for calorie-dense foods. 7. Avoid Empty-Calorie Foods: Skip junk food that offers no nutritional benefit. Focus on healthy, high-calorie options to gain weight effectively. 8. Sleep: Ensure you get 7-8 hours of quality sleep. Rest is essential for weight gain and overall health. By following these tips, you can increase your weight gradually and healthily. If you still have difficulty gaining weight, consider consulting a nutritionist for a personalized plan.
