I had the privilege of practicing for nearly one year at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, one of the most respected central government hospitals in India. During this time, I worked across various departments, gaining exposure to a wide spectrum of medical and surgical cases in a high-volume, multidisciplinary environment. This experience significantly enhanced my clinical acumen, diagnostic accuracy, and decision-making under pressure. I managed both outpatient and inpatient care, assisted in emergency situations, and collaborated closely with specialists from different disciplines. The opportunity to serve a diverse patient population allowed me to develop a well-rounded, patient-centered approach, with a focus on holistic and evidence-based treatment. Working at a government tertiary care hospital also strengthened my understanding of public health challenges, particularly in resource-constrained settings. I learned to prioritize effective communication, empathy, and patient education—essential tools for building trust and ensuring continuity of care. This foundational year not only solidified my medical skills but also deepened my passion for serving the community with integrity, compassion, and a commitment to lifelong learning in clinical practice.
